One of the questions I get asked the most is ‘what is my favourite natural foundation’. To be honest there is no definitive answer as different foundations will suit different skin types and a lots of it is down to the personal preference of my clients too. I’ve tried out quite a few natural foundations now and most of them are great at giving a light, glowy finish but sometimes I have clients who require or just prefer to have a little more coverage.
I have done lots of research into this and time and time again the Kjaer Weis foundation was popping up, recommended by other green beauty bloggers. The brand is the brainchild of makeup artist, Kirsten Kjaer Weis. They have a great ethos and only use ingredients which ‘work with the skin, not against it’. Some of the nourishing ingredients include sweet almond oil, jojoba oil and green tea extract.
I love their sleek minimal packaging, which is designed to be re-fillable. It’s rather heavy but it feels like a real treat just to open the little case up every time. This is probably one of the most expensive natural foundations on the market but I do believe that it’s worth splurging on. The texture is wonderfully creamy and despite having a heavier coverage than others once applied correctly the appearance isn’t cakey at all. When using liquid foundations I usually use my hands a lot to apply them but I find that it’s best to use a brush with this one.
If you’re after a luxurious feeling foundation that will still cover acne, rosacea etc this is the one I would recommend. It’s available from one of my favourite natural beauty shops Content Beauty and they even offer free delivery.
