A few weeks ago an email popped into my inbox from Hannah. Hannah is one of the young ladies giving the Women’s Institute a new lease of life! She organises a meeting every Monday in the sleepy village of Eridge, on the border of East Sussex and Kent, not too far from where I live. She invited me down to give her ladies a little demo and talk on vintage 1940’s make up. Liz came along to create a co-ordaining vintage hairstyle and my best friend Kat kindly modelled for us.
Hannah is young and full of energy, which reflects in the numbers of ladies showing up to her meetings and the broad age range! We met the group at the cute little village hall tucked away down a little lane and tucked into tea and cake while everyone chatted with the Andrews Sisters playing in the background.
After Liz perfected the classic victory rolls I demonstrated to the ladies the basics of creating a flawless base before giving Kat a sweep of beige eyeshadow, a flick of eyeliner and of course bold scarlet lips!
It’s refreshing to see someone my age doing something so positive for our little community and getting people together. Thank you for having us Hannah, it was great to meet such a lovely group of interesting ladies and be given the chance to talk about my work.
Et Voilà… the finished look before and after!
